MYSTIC MOON STANDARD SCHNAUZERS
From Show Ring to  Farm Dogs
"Cimarron Valley "  Living the Good Life
I have traveled most of  the US, and lived in several different states, mostly  in the Southwest, several years ago I decided to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Oklahoma is a beautiful state, and  I love the  history  of Oklahoma.
We have had  Standard Schnauzers since early 1990's. I have had many different breeds and  many german breeds   but  I cannot imagine my life without a Standard.

I have for many years wanted to raise Standard Schnauzers on a farm,  back to their roots I guess ever since I started  herding a couple years ago, when  I noticed the Standard Schnauzer also makes  great working farm dogs  the first time Blu was herding in the open 40 acre pasture and took off after a sheep that drug him a half mile into the woods, there we found him with the sheep up against the gully holding it and not to sure what to do with it,  I called him and he loped along side the ATV all the way back his look said pure happiness and I have done this all my life, I never saw him so happy, so besides  being a great family and performance dog and you add the natural watch dog instinct and they are perfect farm and family dogs.  They are such a versatile breed.
We also have chickens,  guineas, and  Nigerian Dwarf  dairy goats and exotic cattle and small breed cattle both miniature Zebus and Dexter Cattle they are all perfect Hobby Farm Livestock.  Please see the farm link below.
I love gardening, my favorite are tomatoes and  "Shallots" I dry my own and package them, the drying makes them sweet and even more delicious.  Soon I hope to be packaging dry shallots & Herbs. We also have start on a orchard Apples/peached/sweet cherries.

We named our farm "CIMARRON VALLEY" we are on the Cimarron turnpike so it only made sense.  The land has a interesting history as does all of Oklahoma. Our farm was once part of the Land Rush, the name Sooner came about from people cheating trying to sneak in the day before the official land rush to stake of their piece of property. They were called Sooners.

I am involved with several dog clubs a training club, and a herding club 4corners and our AKC breed club the SSCA.   I teach beginners Obedience, and Rally at CDST our local training club in Tulsa once a week.   I really enjoy rally it is a great starting point for agility or Obedience.  We also are in conformation, agility, herding, Rally, and play with tracking.   Standard Schnauzers just excel at competition.
Standard are family dogs, they need and must be part of the family. Our dogs live in the house even though they do work the farm, herding goats, checking on chickens and being great watch dogs around the house/yard  they are family members.  My dogs are somewhat busy, we go to agility class/runs once a week and I teach a Rally class once a week   we have most of the agility obstacles set up in the back yard,  but If you really want to make your Standard happy buy them a farm.
